| Welcome to Brampton College. Every year around 10% of the students who come to study at Brampton College are from overseas. Over the years we have welcomed students through our doors from around the world and from over 15 different countries. Students from China, Germany, Holland, Iran, India, Kenya, Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, Ukraine and the USA have successfully completed courses at the college and have gone on to study at universities in the UK. This year there were 20 overseas students, from 7 different countries, studying a variety of GCSE and A level subjects on both two year courses and shorter one year intensive courses. If necessary in addition to their core academic programme students are supported in developing their English language skills and preparing for any IELTS examinations. |

We realise that students arriving from overseas often need a little extra care and attention, as they are a long way from home and family. At the beginning of every academic year the ‘tutor in charge of overseas students’ will organise an induction programme for the students to ensure that their introduction into the college goes as smoothly as possible. There is then an ongoing programme of studey skills support for those who do not have English as a first language. A number of trips, outings and welcome lunches are organised to help the students settle into the college. Over the years the overseas students have enjoyed boat trips to Greenwich, tours of Canary Wharf, ice-skating at Somerset House, a vertiginous cycle on the impressive London Eye and many nights Ten Pin Bowling at Finchley Hollywood Bowl. The International Student Coordinator is Tim Mills BSc (Hons), PGCE, MInstP
