Nicole Clif on her artwork

29th October 2018

“At the start of our projects we were given the title of ‘Space’. In relation to this I have chosen the focused theme of Natural Space and Landscapes. To begin with I looked into smaller-scale natural spaces, such as parks and gardens, and decided to explore the work of Claude Monet for my initial artist study. This painting is inspired by the natural scene depicted in Monet’s painting ‘Adolph Monet Reading in the Garden,’ which I saw displayed in the Public Parks, Private Gardens: Paris to Provence Exhibition at the Met Museum, when I was in New York over the summer.”
