A level success as 11 students achieve places to study medicine

Posted: 15th August 2018

Brampton students have received some outstanding results across the board this year, including some exceptional success with many of our science students who have secured places on some of the most competitive medical courses at universities including Kings College, London, Liverpool and Nottingham. Confirmed placements so far include, 11 for Medicine, 1 for Veterinary Medicine and 1 for Dentistry.

One particular highlight is the success of twins, Natasha and Sunayana Patel. Natasha achieved A*A*A and a place at University of Birmingham to study Dentistry and Sunayana achieved A*AA and a place at University of Leicester to study Medicine. Together they explain,

The teachers at Brampton are so approachable and helpful. We especially appreciated the additional support with tutorials, one-to-one help and past papers. If you want to achieve, come to Brampton!”

Dipen Patel came back to Brampton to re-take Biology and has achieved an A* and a place at the University of East Anglia to read Medicine. He’s relieved as he explains.

I wasn’t sure it paid off, but it has! Taking an extra year has strengthened my bio-knowledge, but also increased my confidence and self-esteem.

What makes Brampton different is the level of support you receive. I was used to teachers who weren’t proactive or collaborative, but here you can ask teachers anything and they’re always at hand. This time last year I didn’t think any of this was possible. It’s always been my dream to study Medicine and I’m so pleased I stuck to my guns and re-sat the A level rather than accept a university course last year that I didn’t really want to do.”

Hashim Khan also re-sat an A level and achieved an A* in Chemistry and has secured a place at the University of Liverpool to read Medicine.

Teachers here go out of their way to help you achieve your goals. You’re in small groups, with focused learning, centred purely on the curriculum and exam preparation. But the key to Brampton’s success is the friendly and open atmosphere, it’s a great transition to university life. I can’t wait to start at Liverpool – I’ve always wanted to go there!”
