On Monday, after careful deliberation, we decided that we need to act now in order to protect the safety of our students, parents, staff and their extended families. Whilst the government has just announced the decision to close schools on Friday, we have already taken the unilateral step of moving to remote learning with effect from the end of today.
We are well positioned on this front, with Google Classroom already in place as a well-established platform for all classes. We have also been working intensively over the past two weeks to enhance our remote learning provision with a video conferencing platform. All staff have now received training, and remote classes will begin on Thursday 19th March at 9am, with all students and staff following the regular published timetable. Tutorials and any additional provision, including support sessions, will continue in a similar manner.
The College will operate with a reduced administration staff from Thursday, but parents will still be able to contact the teachers through email as normal, and the College via firstname.lastname@example.org or on the usual College phone number 020 8203 5025. New enquiries can contact us via email@example.com or the college phone number.
We hope you will agree that this step is needed in order to minimise the risk to our students, staff and the wider community. Please be reassured that we will continue to fulfil our educational commitment, and it is a priority that our students are prepared for their future examinations.
With kindest regards,
