International Students

An Integrated Experience

Every year, around 10% of students joining Brampton College are from overseas. We believe this ratio provides a genuine opportunity to integrate with, and experience, British life and the chance to make friends with British students. Working alongside home students at Brampton College is the best preparation for university.

Over the past 25 years we are proud to have welcomed students from all around the world, including Brazil, China, Germany, Holland, Iran, India, Kenya, Korea, Latvia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Switzerland, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine and the USA. This diversity in the student body enriches the college and all our students benefit from a British education, whilst being able to appreciate a breadth of different cultures and customs.

A Programme of Support

We appreciate that students arriving from overseas are a long way from home and may need a little extra care and attention. Therefore, an induction programme is organised to ensure students’ introduction into the College goes as smoothly as possible. There is also an on-going programme of study skills support and each student is allocated a specialist ‘Personal Tutor’.

The close pastoral care that our international students receive includes weekly study skills sessions, English Language classes leading to IELTs qualifications if required and regular social events. International students are required to have a guardian, who can also effectively support them. Tutors liaise closely with guardians who receive regular progress reports, which are also available for parents to access online. There are Parents’ Evenings in both the Autumn and Spring terms which we expect guardians and the students themselves to attend.

Apply Now!

Places for international students are always in demand, so applications should be made early for the new academic year, which starts in September 2022. Early application is encouraged if a Visa needs to be applied for.

Non-native speakers need IELTs 5.5 as an entry requirement.

I joined Brampton College as an international student to do A levels in preparation for studying medicine. The welcoming and friendly environment at Brampton College helped me settle in quickly and get acquainted with the English education system in a short period of time. I knew that getting a medical admission was no easy task in view of the competitive nature of the course. However the high standard of education at Brampton and the caring attention of their academic team prepared me well to face the challenges of achieving the required grades. The small teaching groups and the availability of the teachers at all times were an important feature at Brampton College. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brampton and am very thankful to the academic team for being there until the end!”
