Elisheva on her artwork

artwork created by a student from an independent college in london

“For the project titled ‘Space’, I have chosen to look at repeated structures and reduce them down to their basic lines. I came about this idea after comparing the aesthetics of prisons to new housing developments – both prioritise space and lack individuality. I photographed areas with houses that all look the same, a concept that baffles me due to the home being the most individual, personal place. I used photoshop to edit a basic primary photo of a house and repeated the features to create an abstract almost optical illusion. I then used carbon paper to trace the basic outlines for a clean, crisp image that simplifies the otherwise overwhelming edit.”
