A level student Gaurika Singh is taking a break from her studies to swim for her country in the South Asian Games. The bi-annual event is taking place in Lalitpur, Nepal, Gaurika’s home country. She is competing in up to 12 swimming categories including team events and has so far won an historic 4 gold medals in the 200m backstroke, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle and 100m freestyle events along with a silver and 2 bronze medals. With this feat, Gaurika has become the only athlete to have won four golds in the same edition of the regional sporting event.
