Dermot went to school in the local area and graduated from University of Lancaster in 1986. He spent 2 years travelling and working in North America, Australia and South East Asia and worked in the London Traded Options Market (on the floor of the old London Stock Exchange) in some quite turbulent years, before deciding realise his long held passion to become a teacher.
He has now been teaching for the last 31 years with the last 15 years as deputy headteacher in two London secondary schools.
Dermot is looking forward to joining Brampton and directing all of his energies and experience into his teaching of Economics and Business Studies (and can also offer Politics to A Level) so that he can support, motivate and enable Brampton students to get the best possible grades. He has had many years of successful experience in teaching all 3 subjects at A level.
Dermot has a wide range of interests though it is probably family life, traditional Irish music, his eclectic reading interests and a long time enjoyment of rugby which has taken most of his time in recent years.
