Lower sixth Physics students visited the Spurs stadium on 6th May for a technical tour that explored the engineering, design, and architecture of what is arguably the best stadium in the world. Led by an expert tour guide, they ventured beneath the famous retractable football pitch and learned about the intricacies of a stadium transformation.
The stadium, of course, isn’t just the home of the famous Tottenham Hotspur Football Club—it is also the only permanent home of the NFL outside the USA, a world-class concert venue, an incredible boxing venue, and a rugby stadium.
It was incredibly beneficial for students to see how engineering principles in mechanics are applied in the built environment through cutting-edge engineering and stadium design— hopefully inspiring some engineers of the future!
