Photographer of the Month: Jodie S

Posted: 24th March 2026

We are delighted to announce Jodie S as our Photographer of the Month, recognised for her thoughtful and beautifully observed documentary photography project created as part of her AS Portfolio.

Over the Christmas break, Jodie travelled to the Canary Islands, where she developed a compelling visual study inspired by the work of renowned American photographer Stephen Shore. Much like Shore, Jodie demonstrates a remarkable ability to elevate the ordinary, transforming everyday street scenes into images rich with atmosphere, subtlety and narrative.

Her series, shot on the streets of Tenerife, showcases a refined command of light, colour and composition. Each photograph feels both spontaneous and intentional, capturing fleeting moments that reveal the quiet rhythms of daily life. From sun‑washed pavements to candid glimpses of local residents, Jodie’s work reflects a personal and perceptive response to her surroundings.

What makes this project stand out is the maturity of Jodie’s visual language. She balances technical skill with a sensitive documentary approach, allowing viewers to feel present in the scene rather than simply observing it. The result is a cohesive and engaging body of work that demonstrates both artistic curiosity and strong creative discipline.

Jodie’s project is an exciting indication of her potential as a photographer, and we look forward to seeing how her portfolio continues to evolve throughout the year.

Congratulations, Jodie, on this well‑deserved recognition.
