Javier graduated from the Photographic Studies MA at The University of Westminster in 2011 and has been teaching at Brampton College since 2013. Javier considers that a continuous open dialogue is vital to the successful completion of a project. In the group critiques that happen throughout the year, he also shares the working progress of his own practice for students to deliberate on. Outside of Brampton Javier works with photography, film and installation, exhibiting in festivals and art-fairs internationally. He has work in collections including Pro Helvetia (Swiss Arts Council) and Sul Ado Malagoli Art Museum in Brazil. He is currently represented by Ivory Press Space in Madrid, where last year he took part in a conference on contemporary debates in photography.
