Wellbeing Talk by Mandy Saligari

The College was delighted to host Mandy Saligari for the second talk to parents in our Wellbeing Programme. This programme launched with the fantastic talk by Ian Williamson, which you can read about here.

Mandy is a parenting, relationship and addiction expert, and the founder and clinical director of Charter, Harley Street. Mandy is a regular contributor to press and television, including regular appearances on Channel 5. She is passionate about dispelling myths surrounding mental health and addiction, and gives regular talks to schools on self-esteem, preventing mental health issues and helping people live healthy and happy lives. Bernard Canetti and the College have enjoyed a close relationship with Mandy and Charter for many years.

Mandy spoke to parents about the importance of children being left to experience a problem, if it’s something they are capable of managing. Much like Ian Williamson, Mandy emphasised the value in young adults feeling disappointment, and learning to build resilience. As well as this, she spoke about the importance of parents looking after themselves, to be the best parents that they can be. Mandy also spoke to our AS students, again focusing on the importance of self-care.

This was another brilliant event in our Wellbeing Programme, and we look forward to more to come in 2018.
