This year AS geographers at Brampton College took part in three exciting days of fieldwork and research. In February ‘Extreme Weather’ investigations were undertaken at Epping Forest Field Centre. This involved wading in Loughton Brook to gather cross profile measurements, as well as a slippery storm discharge experiment. A second day at the same venue focused on ‘Rebranding Places’. This time quantitative and qualitative data were collected to assess the branding of Epping Forest. Lots of fun was had with quadrats! The third and final day considered rebranding in East London. The highlight was observing the vast 2012 Olympic Site from the top of Holden Point.
After what will be six years with the college, our Principal, John Wilson, will be leaving us at the end of the current academic year to take up a new role at a school in Central London. We wish John well and thank him for his exceptional service and contribution to the college and his commitment to our students.
We are delighted to announce that Emma Bell, former Head of St James Senior Girls’ School, has been appointed as Principal and will take over from John in August this year.
