February Awards Assembly

Posted: 23rd February 2014

Vice Principals Joy Mason and Mike Wheeldon were delighted to recognise the achievements of Brampton students at an assembly attended by most of our mathematicians and scientists.
Eleven Brampton students entered the British Biology Olympiad and we are thrilled that they have done so well. Congratulations to all our students who bravely put themselves forward to take part in this extremely challenging test of biological knowledge, beyond the A-Level syllabus.
In particular, well done to Jamie Hakham, who achieved a Silver Medal and Hiren Parmar, who achieved a Bronze Medal.
Tony Yang achieved a Silver Award in the Physics Olympiad, this puts him in the top 300 out of 1900 entries.
Michael Tsotsos and Sibo Cheng were both entered for The Kangaroo Award in Mathematics after their excellent achievements in the first round Maths Challenge. Well done to both of them.
The College is delighted to have introduced the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme to our students. Many students have been inspired to sign up to start their Gold Award. Semia Mitra was awarded her Bronze Certificate. Sajnee Karania and Jake Videlefsky were recognised for gaining their Gold Award which had been presented to them by the Earl of Essex at St James’s Palace the previous day. Joy Mason commented ‘We are delighted that our first year of offering the DofE Award has been so successful. So many of our students have done so much to make us proud of them!’
