For the first time, Brampton College is offering up to six scholarships to enthusiastic and academically able students, who may not otherwise consider an independent college due to financial constraints.
The scholarships will cover a substantial part of the fees – up to 60% – taking into consideration family income. They are open to students expecting to achieve a minimum of five A*s in GCSEs taken this summer, and to those wishing to study two year A level courses beginning this September 2015. Full details can be found at here and applications should be made as soon as possible.
Brampton College is the number one Sixth Form College in London – for the 14th year running – and 4th in the country (The Department for Education, 2014). Their students achieve outstanding examination results with 51% obtaining A*/A grades and 86% A*/A/B grades. 70% of their students receive their first choice university with the vast majority progressing to Russell Group Universities. The college’s role is primarily to help each individual student succeed in their aspirations and achieve the best possible exam results. They have small class sizes, with an average of 7, and a focus on individual support and mentoring. Through their specialised UCAS programme, they provide careful guidance and expertise in obtaining a university place. This academic programme is complemented with stimulating extracurricular activities from fundraising events and trips to theatres, galleries and exhibitions to forums and competitions.
Bernard Canetti, Principal and Founder of Brampton College, says “These scholarships have been created specifically to offer those exceptional students an opportunity that they may not have previously considered. Our contribution towards the fee is significantly higher than the average scholarship in our effort to reach out as far as possible into the community.”
