Charity Pyjama Day & Candy Cane Sale

Posted: 24th November 2016

The  Brampton College Charity Committee have had a busy few months of fundraising for our charities of the year, Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice and Mind. It kicked off with a cake bake sale in October, followed by an event in November, inviting students and staff to wear pyjamas or onesies to college for the day.

Over the last two weeks the Committee has been selling Candy Canes to students to deliver to their friends and favourite teachers. Over 100 have been sold so far and they are still selling! Staff also ran a Charity Festive Quiz for the students which, along with raising more money, provided great fun,and encouraged students to work in teams. Well done to Jonathan’s winning maths team! These activities have raised over £800 for the charities in the first term alone which is testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of our students.

This Christmas the Brampton Charitable Trust will be making donations to further, well considered charities including: Dogs for Good; The International Rescue Committee; The Holocaust Survivors Centre and Emergency Fire Relief for Israel. Should you be fundraising for a particular cause next year, please let us know and we’ll see what support we may be able to offer.

New Principal Appointment

After what will be six years with the college, our Principal, John Wilson, will be leaving us at the end of the current academic year to take up a new role at a school in Central London. We wish John well and thank him for his exceptional service and contribution to the college and his commitment to our students.

We are delighted to announce that Emma Bell, former Head of St James Senior Girls’ School, has been appointed as Principal and will take over from John in August this year.
