A level student, Yael Katz, tells us her story here and how Brampton helped her achieve her goals…
“I’m buzzing, I’ve got the grades I need to go to uni – A*AAA and an A in my EPQ. The grades are in Biology, Chemistry, English and History and I’m going on to study Biomedical Science at Manchester with a year abroad. I’m so relieved that I’m leaving here with grades that allow me to do anything in the future.
I moved to Brampton to study the combination of subjects which other schools wouldn’t accommodate. It was literally the only college that would support me with this and of course I was reassured by their fantastic results. I did two of my courses in one year – English and Chemistry – which went so well. It’s a really accelerated pace of teaching and they prepare you so well for exams. Also whilst I was at Brampton I became very sick and missed a lot of school. The teachers were incredible and just so supportive. They organised a number of tutorials for me to help me catch up and they were so generous with their time and resources. I really can’t praise the college enough!
I’m totally leaving a different person. I think perhaps I experienced some of the most difficult times of my life whilst here and they’ve really helped me come through the other side – not just with the good exam results, but genuinely I’m feeling really happy. I’m a much stronger person and that is down to such a supportive school. I’ve never been at a school like this before!
For someone considering changing school and coming to Brampton, I’d say take the jump and go for it! I don’t know a single person here who ever had a second thought about coming to Brampton. I remember my first day here and how I immediately struck by the quality of the teaching and knowing that I’d made the right decision. Also everyone is new here so it’s easy to make friendships and to settle in. I know it’s nerve-wracking to move school, but it is 100% worth it. I know I wouldn’t have got the great university place had I not come here.”
