College Facilities

Brampton College is based in Lodge House, a spacious period building in Hendon, North London, with a separate annex providing additional teaching space. Across both buildings, the College offers a well-equipped, purposeful environment designed to support focused academic study at A level and GCSE.

What Science Facilities Does Brampton College Offer?

Brampton College provides four refurbished and spacious, purpose-built science laboratories. Equipped with the latest resources, they allow students to carry out a full range of A level and GCSE experimental work. Each laboratory has access to College network computers for data-logging and online research.

A fully qualified laboratory technician supports both teachers and students in planning and conducting experimental investigations, ensuring practical science is an integral part of the learning experience.

Practical, hands-on science is central to learning at Brampton. Students undertaking Biology, Chemistry, or Physics at A level or GCSE benefit from regular laboratory sessions that give them the confidence and experience they need to perform well in coursework and examinations — and to be fully prepared for university-level science.

How Is Art Taught at Brampton College?

The College boasts a large, specially designed art studio, supporting painting, drawing, sculpture, textiles, and photography. Facilities include:

  • A new dark room
  • Architect desks
  • An art reference library
  • Computer facilities
  • A dedicated textiles area

Art and Photography are available both as full courses at A level and GCSE and as extracurricular options. Students with creative talent may benefit from A level scholarships in Art, giving them access to specialist resources and professional guidance.

Whether a student is building a portfolio for an art school application, developing their photography practice, or exploring a new creative discipline, the studio provides the space and specialist support to flourish.

What Resources Are Available in the Academic Library?

Our library provides a spacious, supervised, and silent study area. It houses:

  • Academic texts, reference works, novels, drama, poetry and biography
  • A wide range of journals and newspapers
  • Full sets of university prospectuses

Students also benefit from digital access to subject-specific resources, career advice, and UCAS guidance via the secure college website.

Study facilities across the college are open from 8am until 6.30pm, giving students the opportunity to work independently before, between, and after lessons. A level students are expected to match their classroom hours with equivalent private study time, and our spaces are designed to make that as productive as possible.

How Does Brampton College Support Careers and University Applications?

Our specialist UCAS and Careers Advisor provides personalised guidance through regular one-to-one appointments. They assist students in researching degree pathways, apprenticeships, and future careers.

University guidance at Brampton begins early and is built into the fabric of college life. From choosing the right course and institution to crafting a compelling personal statement, students are supported at every stage of the process by advisers who understand what competitive universities are looking for.

The careers room and library stock the latest university prospectuses, careers booklets, and other higher education resources. This ensures that students, including those benefitting from A level scholarships, are well-prepared for their next steps.

What Computer Facilities Are Available?

Technology plays a central role in Brampton’s teaching and learning environment. Students have access to:

  • Computers in the library and common area
  • A dedicated computing suite with interactive whiteboard and projector
  • High-speed WiFi for laptops, tablets, and smartphones
  • Personal network accounts for email, research, UCAS applications and coursework

Every classroom is equipped with digital projectors and computers, enabling teachers to integrate technology into lessons. Students are encouraged to make full use of these facilities to support their studies and prepare for university.

Access to technology is treated as a core part of academic life at Brampton, not an optional extra. From data-logging in science labs to online research and UCAS preparation, students leave the college comfortable and confident using the digital tools that are central to university study and professional life.
