Mental Health Awareness Week

Posted: 4th June 2025

12th–16th May was Mental Health Awareness Week. To mark the occasion, staff and students wore green on 13th May and donated £1 each to the charity Shout (Shout: the UK’s free, confidential, and 24/7 mental health text service for crisis support | Shout 85258).

First Year A Level students took part in activities to boost their mental health, including yoga and making stress balls. The theme for this year is “Community”, so students were given a 10% discount at local coffee shop Warehouse to encourage them to meet up with friends for a smoothie or latte.

The student ambassadors sold cakes and, together with the £1 donations, raised £58 for Shout. Thanks to matched funding from the Brampton Charitable Trust, the charity will receive £118.

New Principal Appointment

After what will be six years with the college, our Principal, John Wilson, will be leaving us at the end of the current academic year to take up a new role at a school in Central London. We wish John well and thank him for his exceptional service and contribution to the college and his commitment to our students.

We are delighted to announce that Emma Bell, former Head of St James Senior Girls’ School, has been appointed as Principal and will take over from John in August this year.
