We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our students, Darshan, for his remarkable achievement in completing the London Marathon, raising over £8,000 for Make-A-Wish UK in the process.

This is not only a testament to his determination and resilience, but also to his commitment to giving back and supporting others facing their own challenges.

Darshan’s Story

Darshan’s journey is one of extraordinary strength and perseverance:

At 9 years old, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. What followed was chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery and a long road back. I survived. But survival is just the beginning of a different kind of challenge.

Make-A-Wish UK was there during that journey. My wish was a home gym, which became more than equipment. It became a way to rebuild strength and a sense of control over my own body again.

Now I’m running 26.2 miles to give back to the organisation that gave so much to me, so that more young people in the hardest moments of their lives know they are not forgotten.”

Through his marathon effort, Darshan has turned his personal experience into a powerful act of generosity—helping to ensure other young people receive the same hope and support that meant so much to him.
