What makes Brampton College one of the best sixth form colleges in London?
For nearly 30 years, Brampton College has helped students achieve their academic ambitions. Recognised as the highest-achieving independent sixth form college in London, we provide a rigorous academic programme within a friendly and supportive environment.
We also offer Sixth Form Scholarships in London, making our excellent education more accessible to academically talented students. These college scholarships help ensure that every capable student has the chance to succeed at A level and beyond.
How do students choose the right subjects?
Making the right subject choices is crucial for academic success. At Brampton College, we offer a wide range of GCSE and A level courses, along with expert guidance and flexibility to ensure each student follows the path best suited to their strengths and aspirations.
Why is sixth form a vital stage of development?
Sixth form is a formative period, both intellectually and personally. That’s why we provide individual mentoring, tailored support, and a broad programme of enrichment activities. These opportunities build students’ confidence and prepare them for university, apprenticeships, or other next steps.
Who are the sixth form tutors at Brampton College?
Our teachers are highly qualified sixth form specialists with extensive experience in preparing students for A level examinations. Many are also examiners, giving them unique insight into exam expectations and marking criteria.
Teaching takes place in small classes, with an average of just seven students. This structure allows tutors to give each student the individual support they need to excel.
What are the class sizes and what individual support is on offer?
Students often tell us about how they felt lost in a crowd at their previous school, in class sizes exceeding 20. At Brampton, teaching occurs in small groups with an average class size of just 7. This allows tutors to focus attention on each individual student, so they each receive the tailored feedback and the support that they deserve.
Our students experience a friendly and intimate space to ask questions and to grow in confidence, both academically and emotionally. They flourish in an environment where they’re seen, heard and supported.
What study facilities are available?

After what will be six years with the college, our Principal, John Wilson, will be leaving us at the end of the current academic year to take up a new role at a school in Central London.
