  • Fractions, Decimals, Percentages, Ratio 
  • Indices, Standard Form, and Surds 
  • Equations, Inequalities, Quadratics, and Simultaneous Equations

Assessment and Examination Structure 

 At the end of the one-year course, students sit two calculator papers, both equally weighted: 

 

Paper 1: Calculator 

  • Duration: 2 hours 
  • Weighting: 50% of final grade 
  • Assesses all topics in the syllabus 

 

Paper 2: Calculator 

  • Duration: 2 hours 
  • Weighting: 50% of final grade 
  • Includes advanced application and reasoning questions 

There are two tiers of entry: 

  • Higher Tier: Grades 9–4 
  • Foundation Tier: Grades 5–1 

Students are usually entered for the Higher Tier, but tier decisions are finalised after the mock examinations, based on individual performance.
