WaterAid

Posted: 21st November 2014

Sandy, a volunteer from WaterAid came to speak to our A level students last week. The talk provided a valuable opportunity for students to learn more about the important concept of water stress. Indeed, it was interesting to learn that WaterAid works in twenty-six water stressed countries. It became clear that the ‘taps and toilets’ projects improve not only the health of participants but also increase educational opportunities. Questions were raised by students about the current ebola outbreak which can be directly connected to the availability of clean water and sanitation. He explained the cost of well construction and a little about how they are constructed.

WaterAid is a charity Brampton College has supported over many years.
