Applying ‘chesed’ to our everyday lives

Posted: 28th November 2019

a lesson taking place at an independent college in london

In this week’s Jsoc, guest speaker Rabbi Yitzy David addressed the idea of applying Torah learning to our everyday lives as teenagers, giving us inspiration and of course pizza. This focused on the idea of ‘Chesed’, loosely translated to kindness. To apply this to our every day lives he said the first step is just acknowledging situations around you. Even if you are unable to take action and are limited in your ability to help others, just acknowledging the unfortunate situation and providing empathy is the first step to applying ‘chesed’ to our every day lives.
