Computer programming is an exciting and creative experience. It becomes a more satisfying experience if you can see the outcome of your design and program in the physical world.
Robotics club at Brampton college is designed to entertain both creative and technical minded students alike regardless of their experience in programming. Students with creative skills enjoyed designing artefacts using MatterControl and printed them using a 3D printer. Whereas, students with programming skills enjoyed writing Python programs to control sensors using Raspberry Pi kit.
The Robotics club is led by our A2 student Neeka Talebkhan Garoosi who is very passionate about robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). Students from a range of different backgrounds attended the club as and when they had time available. Some enjoyed writing their first Python program and others learned to program RFID tags to store business details as well as writing programs to control sensors and motors. Creative minded students particularly enjoyed designing and printing their favourite characters using a 3D printer.
