One Student’s Journey to University Success

Posted: 10th September 2025

Starting at a new school can feel daunting—but for one student at Brampton College, it turned out to be the best decision they ever made.

After transferring from a larger school, Caylan (centre in the photo) found himself in an environment where small class sizes meant his voice was heard, his questions were answered, and his confidence began to grow. With tailored one-to-one support from teachers who genuinely cared, he was able to take ownership of their learning in a way that felt empowering rather than overwhelming.

Brampton’s emphasis on independent study helped Caylan prepare for the demands of university life, while still offering the safety net of expert guidance and a supportive community. And if you’re worried about making friends—don’t be. Caylan quickly discovered that everyone at Brampton is in the same boat: new faces, shared goals, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes settling in and making friends surprisingly easy.

Now, with A*AA A level results and a university placement at the University of Warwick (to study Economics) in hand and a renewed sense of self-belief, Caylan looks back on his time at Brampton as a turning point. A place where he didn’t just survive sixth form—he thrived.

Thinking about making the move? You might just find your own stepping stone to success.
