After what will be six years with the college, our Principal, John Wilson, will be leaving us at the end of the current academic year to take up a new role at a school in Central London. We wish John well and thank him for his exceptional service and contribution to the college and his commitment to our students.
We are delighted to announce that Emma Bell, former Head of St James Senior Girls’ School, has been appointed as Principal and will take over from John in August this year.
Emma studied Modern History at the University of Oxford and has a PGCE from the Institute of Education (UCL). She was appointed as a Trustee of the Executive Council of the Independent Schools Association in June last year, and has extensive school leadership and sixth form experience in both the independent and state sectors. She was described by the Good Schools Guide as a “super-dynamic” Headteacher with a “down-to-earth and approachable style.”
It is a privilege to be joining the Brampton community as Principal from August 2026. Brampton College is clearly a special place, with a strong tradition of warmth, care and excellence. The ethos and supportive environment of the College, where students flourish academically, socially and personally resonates strongly with me. Emma Bell
We are excited about Emma’s appointment and very much looking forward to welcoming her to the college in August. In the meantime, she will be working closely with John and the senior team to ensure a smooth transition.
