We hosted a hugely successful Open Evening last night, welcoming a number of prospective students and families through our doors. The event was very well attended, creating a warm, vibrant atmosphere as visitors explored the college, met teachers and discovered what makes Brampton such a unique and supportive place to study.
Staff from across the college gave their time generously, speaking at length with families, answering questions and sharing insights into the Brampton experience. Their commitment and enthusiasm played a central role in the evening’s success, and the college extends sincere thanks to every member of staff who helped prepare and support the event.
Powerful and Emotional Stories from Parents and Students
One of the most memorable aspects of the evening came from the heartfelt words shared by current students and parents. Their reflections offered visitors an authentic and deeply moving insight into the transformative impact Brampton can have.
Lucy Ronson, parent of a current student, spoke openly about her daughter’s journey. After struggling at a well‑known independent school with large class sizes and inconsistent teaching, her daughter was initially nervous about changing schools and leaving her friends behind. But everything changed when they visited Brampton.
“She knew it was the right place for her. She could feel the teachers’ passion and see the level of support they could give her. We went back to her current school and sat down with the head. We asked what they could offer her, and the head said, ‘We can’t compete with Brampton.’
And it has been transformative for her. Since she’s been here, she’s been flying.”
A Student’s Journey of Confidence and Achievement
Visitors also heard from Maisie, a current student who shared her own inspiring story. She joined Brampton for GCSEs, fully expecting to return to drama college afterwards. At the time, she had been predicted grade 5s — but with the right support, everything changed.
After achieving straight 9s in her GCSEs, the decision to stay on for A levels became effortless.
Maisie told families:
“With the right support, I proved to myself that I could do well academically. I can’t come up with the words to say how grateful I am to Brampton. The relationship with the staff is unlike any other school… they want you to achieve the very best you can. They go out of their way to get to know you, what works for you, and to help you in any way they can.”
A Heart‑Warming Evening of Community and Connection
The Open Evening was a powerful reminder of the strength of the Brampton community and the life‑changing impact the college can have on young people. The combination of warm conversations, honest reflections and inspiring success stories created an atmosphere that we’re sure left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
Brampton College extends heartfelt thanks to:
- The families who visited and engaged so thoughtfully
- The students and parents who shared their experiences so openly
- The staff who supported the event with such dedication
The evening captured everything Brampton stands for: exceptional teaching, genuine care and a commitment to helping every student thrive.
