At Brampton College, career and UCAS support is a cornerstone of the student experience, designed to empower every individual to make informed, confident decisions about their future. From the moment students join, they benefit from a tailored programme that guides them through every stage of university application and career exploration.
Last term, our Head of Careers and Higher Education worked closely with students to refine personal statements, select appropriate courses, and prepare for interviews. In November, we hosted a dedicated workshop for aspiring medical, veterinary and dental students, focusing on the MMI (Multiple Mini Interview) format — a rigorous and fast-paced style used by many top universities. Students practiced real scenarios, received feedback on their performance, and left feeling more confident and prepared. Further mock interviews have been provided for students, online and in-person, from a range of staff as well as alumni students currently studying Medicine and Dentistry. Good luck to all those attending interviews!
Beyond Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science, Brampton offers targeted support for Oxbridge applicants, including mock interviews with subject specialists and guidance on entrance exams such as the ESAT, TMUA and TARA. Weekly drop-in clinics allow students to discuss course choices, review drafts, and explore alternative pathways.
Our careers programme also includes guest speakers and alumni from a range of industries, from law and finance to creative arts and tech. These sessions help students understand the realities of different professions and inspire them to think broadly about their options.
For students considering gap years, apprenticeships or international study, our Head of Careers and HE provides bespoke guidance to ensure every route is explored. Whether a student is aiming for a Russell Group university or a specialist institution, Brampton’s support is personal, strategic and deeply informed.
We’re proud of the ambition and resilience our students show, and we’re here to help them every step of the way. As interview season continues, we wish all our applicants the very best — your hard work is paying off.
